Willard and Gladys built their beach home in 1935 for family use. Every weekend Willard and Gladys would travel to the beach with their only son, Burr. Years passed and Burr, along with his wife Anne and three sons, Burr Jr., Meade and Noell, would often visit Willard and Gladys at their beach home. They all have fond memories of the summers and weekends spent with family and friends.
When Gladys and Willard passed on they left the beach house to their grandsons. Willard's term of endearment for Gladys was "Charlie." We decided that in loving tribute to our grandparents and because of all the wonderful happy memories spent at the Oregon Coast in comfort, we would call our home on the Coast "Charlie's Place."
